Privacy Policy
How MONAD collects and uses personal data when you visit this website or contact us through it.
01Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how MONAD Law Firm (“MONAD”, “we”, “us”), a law firm based in Athens, Greece, collects and uses personal data through monadlegal.com. We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”) and Greek Law 4624/2019.
MONAD is the data controller. For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@monadlegal.com.
This policy covers the website only. Personal data we process when we act for clients is governed by our engagement terms and by our professional duty of confidentiality as lawyers.
02What data we collect
- Contact form and email: your name, email address, telephone number (optional) and the content of your message.
- Technical data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit, to deliver the site, keep it secure and produce aggregated visitor statistics.
Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the contact form before we have agreed to act for you. Contacting us does not create a lawyer-client relationship.
03Why we use it and our legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, take steps at your request before entering into an engagement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To check for conflicts of interest and meet our legal and professional obligations as lawyers (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To run, secure and understand the use of the website, based on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we never sell it.
04Who we share it with
- Website hosting and statistics: Automattic Inc. (WordPress.com and Jetpack), which hosts this website, stores contact-form submissions on our behalf and produces aggregated visitor statistics.
- Fonts: Google LLC (Google Fonts), whose servers deliver the typefaces used on this site and therefore receive your IP address.
- Email: Google LLC (Google Workspace), which provides our email service.
- Authorities, courts and professional advisers, where the law requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for certified companies) or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
05How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that do not lead to an engagement for no longer than 12 months and then delete them. If you become a client, we keep your data for as long as the engagement and our legal and professional retention obligations require. Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention policy.
06Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@monadlegal.com. We reply within one month. Some rights may be limited where we must keep data to comply with the law or our professional duty of confidentiality.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, 1-3 Kifissias Avenue, 115 23 Athens (www.dpa.gr).
07Security
The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
